Friday Afternoon

Not to get too confessional but the last week of work has had me in a roller-coaster of emotions. When you've experienced work mishaps or issues concerning coworkers how do you handle the stress of the situation? Who do you turn to when you need to support? How do you move on from the problem you're dealing with and when is it the right time to leave your current work situation? Hopefully you all have had a much better week than I have. We'll catch up next week!

Self Care Friday

Happy Friday! Since Coachella is in it's first week, I plan on being far away from the festival since it's in my hometown. I'm spending the day with a coworker and socializing it up and networking with other fab ladies at the Create and Cultivate Pop-Up at the Ace tomorrow. Besides that I'm indulging myself with a fancy grilled cheese dinner and trying to get on that spring cleaning. See you next week :)

What I'm Doing: Desert Pop-Up

What I'm Reading: Making Friends

What I'm Wearing: Universal Thread Tees

Friday Morning

Hey guys, I'm over the moon for this weekend for several reasons. The ac-unit has been out at the library for the last two days and I feel like I could faint. How we've managed to stay open without dying or being yelled at by patrons, it's been an interesting week. I'm also finally getting a much needed hair cut and looking forward to sleeping in. I've been working weekends for a little over a month and I'm happy to have them back. What have you been up too?

Friday Afternoon

It's kind of been a whirlwind of a week, amirite? It started slow and towards the end of the week, everything just seemed to pile up and somehow I had convinced myself March was next week. I have to remind myself to take breaks at work, I'm so bad when it comes to taking a fifteen break. Now that I'm sitting and I've caught my breath, how was your week? Uneventful or slammed? Given that the past few nights I've been going to sleep past midnight, I'm not exactly in the greatest of moods but here's to a better weekend!

Friday Morning

Cheers to the weekend! Even though it was a short work week, it still managed to be a long one. Yesterday I was up at four in the morning for traveling purposes and even though I was planning to go to sleep early that didn't happen. So we'll keep this post short. What are you plans for the weekend? I'm not sure what I'm up too other than getting my place back in order after a pipe leaking incident from earlier this month. See you next week!

Friday Morning

I don't know about you but this was a strange week, it was slow but fast at the same time, amrite?! How was your Christmas? If you weren't with family, I hope your holiday was wonderful. I've certainly had an interesting week and I'd like to finish it off by having my apartment back and sleeping through the weekend. What are your plans for New Year's Eve?! Mine includes staying in bed with hot and spicy soup and working to get the new site launched by next week! That's right, Sit and Stay Awhile is moving and getting a face lift, and I for one cannot wait to show you :) So cheers to the weekend and a Happy New Year! See you in 2018!

Things I'm Into This Week

A few nights ago, I finally settled in to watch the first Christmas movie of the season. And even though Netflix produced it, The Christmas Prince is basically their version of a Hallmark holiday movie. Filled with cliches and situations that would never happen in the real world, (fans of The Princess Diaries, The Prince and Me, What A Girl Wants will love this movie) I let my mind take The Christmas Prince, for what it's worth, a terrible and utterly cheesy holiday romantic comedy.

I saw this shirt floating around the insta-feed of my bookish instagram account. And now it's mine. An excellent gift for your book hoarding friend or family member :)

I can't get enough of these tabby cat browser backgrounds

I have been following Julie Houts for months now on Instagram, she is by far my favorite person/illustrator ever. I also bought her book recently, I was practically in tears from laughing so hard the other night reading it. I promise, she's worth following.

And if I haven't written enough about Messy Nessy Chic, she now has short episodes of her 'Don't be a Tourist' series. There's only a few out at the moment but they are totally worth watching. Since she's known for the path not taken, there's so much to learn about Paris and France from Vanessa.

Friday Morning...

It's been an interesting week, slow and quick at the same time. I've been a little under the weather as you can tell by my absence from the blog over the last week and half or so. I'll be celebrating my birthday a little early this year and by that I mean my family and David are apparently taking me on a little trip to L.A. for a surprise. I'll fill you in next week when we get a little personal on feelings about turning the big 30!! Have a great weekend and we'll catch up next week :)

Friday Morning

Let's skip the fact I nearly yelled at the parents in my story time this week for letting them take complete advantage of me. I am a librarian, not your babysitter. This generation of moms is seriously the worst. If you're going to be a mother, can you be actually be a mom! Now that my mini rant is over, my weekend is booked solid. Between family commitments and tuning in for the premiere of the highly anticipated Lore television show on Amazon, I'll catch you all next week.

Life Lately

Last month I picked up this book thinking what a great cover, little did I know it would become my adult version of Eat, Pray, Love. And I only say that because I was introduced to Liz Gilbert's book as sophomore in high school. My copy of Material Girl, Mystical World is already dogeared and filled with post-its! What are you reading?

When I got back from Europe, I went through Madeline phase and came across this collectible item. As I started searching deeper, I found a treasure trove of storybook characters and found another childhood favorite

Anyone who knows me well, knows I'm a Kate Spade addict. I own everything from stationary to books, plates, mugs and bags. These mugs are everything and I pretty much transport them from work to home on the regular!

When I'm searching for new beats to listen too, I turn to Sarah Tolzmann. We speak the same language when it comes to music :)

If you were a fan of The Toast and own your copy of Texts from Jane Eyre, then you need to check out Mallory's latest endeavor, Dear Prudence. A somewhat new podcast that I've just been introduced too. I think you'll be pretty happy with this podcast.

When it comes to Mexican Food, nowhere in the desert beats Taqueria Sinaloense. Whenever you're in Palm Desert just look for this small hole in wall place. I've been eating here for years, literally nothing compares to the authentic food and the incredibly sweet staff at this restaurant.

I started paying attention to H&M bralettes a few weeks ago and now I want them all!

A highlighter and gel cream that is a must for dewy healthy looking skin.

My cousin got me on this ice cream months ago, I don't feel so bad indulging in this soy goodness!

Friday Morning

Hey readers, what are your plans for the three day weekend? I'm looking forward to watching the remake of Dirty Dancing even though all the reviews are pretty negative. I'll probably end up watching both the remake and the original because it's just the perfect way to start the season. My coworkers and I are recording our third bookish podcast, where we discuss books that our readers choose for us. This week we're reading and discussing Almost Famous Women by Megan Mayhew Bergman. And lastly, my brother and his wife are driving down from the bay area to hang out for the holiday weekend. It will be filled with barbecues and lots of relaxing by the pool. How are you? What have you been up too? Have an excellent weekend!!

This Week's Favorites

Weekend plans include movies in the park at Bryant Park, a little shopping at Henri Bendel's, Kate Spade and Anthropologie, going on my first date since moving to New York, getting lost in new to me bookstores, drinks on the Upper East Side, checking out the Brooklyn Flea Market with my sister, Sunday strolls through Central Park, sister date nights, and making a new pasta dish.

It's Not Goodbye

If you're wondering where I've been for the last month and half, I've been dealing with a few personal matters and slowly but...
