Go Crazy

Image
How crazy are you about decorating your place for the holidays? Ever since I was a kid, my family's home has always looked something close to a Disneyland park ride-decorations everywhere from the front yard to the foyer and kitchen. But of course I wouldn't have it any other way! You better believe I keep the tradition alive as a twenty-five year old. I hope you all have a great holiday, can you believe it's already November, I can't!

These Autumn Days

Image
The weather is perfect and it's slightly chilly during the day. Make sure to take a moment and enjoy these autumn days before it's too cold. Take your lunch outside today or go on a walk with a friend or lover and smell the scents of fall.

I am obsessed with J. Crew's Perfect Shirt in Buffalo Check collection, it's the perfect blend, masculine meets feminine. I've always had this thing for slightly over-sized men's flannels and checked collared shirts. Finally, I have found you!!! What color would you choose

Friday Mornings

Image
Big long sigh and deep breath, woohoo it is the weekend!! A long week full of assignments, being more than half way through the semester and prepping for Halloween, I am ready for this weekend to be here already. I'm spending my weekend kicking up my heels a bit (and dreaming of these fun patterned mattresses) and relaxing of course in preparation for tomorrow's outrageous halloween fest down in Palm Springs. What are your plans this weekend?!

Tell me what you think, isn't she fab?!

The Music Lounge

Image
I haven't written a post on a music artist in a while, it just seemed like the perfect moment to write about Miss Diane Birch. Her raspy voice is kind of to d.i.e for! If you haven't heard of her go and check her out now, this particular album I can't stop listening too. Try these tracks out Choo Choo, Rise Up and Ariel- they're my absolute favorites.

Thirteen Days of Halloween

Image
Because I'm a movie junkie especially for zombie films, cheesy horror flicks, classics even kiddy Halloween movies I've been following the AMC Fear Fest and ABC Family's Thirteen Day of Halloween. What do you like to watch?

Going to the Annual Halloween Bazaar

Image
One my favorite festivities around Halloween were all the bazaars and festivals that surrounded my most favorite holiday. Growing up in a small community,  the annual fall bazaar  was a particular big event and not just for the Catholics but you better believe everyone in town showed up to the St. Joan of Arc Bazaar.   Everyone was out and ready to celebrate the autumn season, attend a great festival and getting ready for Halloween. Despite it being organized by the local catholic church, I'm pretty sure everyone in town came at least one of the two nights full of activities. My family was always in charge of the goldfish booth, after all the fish my sister and I would win I could tell my parents weren't always thrilled to bring home fish, especially when we had one that lived well over a year! Oh, the memories of the October Bazaar, how I miss getting in the mood for a night of obscene amount of cotton candy and caramel apples, prizes like stuffed animals, taking home goldfi…

Books as Decor

Image
I have a problem with collecting books. If there was a mental disorder for this I'm sure I'd have it since my mother has a panic attack every time she sees a stack of books. How do you store your books?!

Let's Be Honest

Image
My dream would be to open and run a second book store complete with shelves to the the ceilings brimming with books collected from all over the world and one very tall book ladder, who know like the one here in The Mummy. They're always on the most charming of streets, tucked in the corner with people in a single file line because the rows of shelves are too narrow for two or three people to walk side by side. Yes, these are the places that make me smile from ear to ear, where my mind wanders into different time periods and across the world from British India in A Passage to India to Kenya with Osa  and Martin Johnson to Victorian New York with Sara Crewe in A Little Princess. What a lovely way to spend your day, getting lost in a sea of books and with characters that are too hard to forget.  If you had the opportunity to do whatever it was your little heart desired what would you do or be? I'm very curious, please share?!

Friday Mornings

Image
It's been a pretty fantastic week, I spent the early part of it finishing my trip in Indiana trying to catch up with my sister listening to her dish about her life without me. Getting back into the groove of work and homework has me in a great mood, I can't live without my routines. Luckily I still managed to have two days off of work this week so I've spent that time buying fall scented candles to make my room a bit more warm and cozy and visiting with friends over happy hour. This weekend I'm looking forward to spending a little bit of time in bed (this neutral and soft colors make me want to sink into these sheets) with my baby boys, my yorkies and the beau. Have a wonderful weekend everyone, enjoy your weekend and see you next week!  (image via domino magazine)

I Can't Help But Smile

Image
October has been one great month so far I've gotten to spend some much needed time with my sister and the rest of my family and surprising a few of my favorite professors upon my return to my Alma Mater at Saint Mary's College in Indiana. Being back in Indiana, even if only for a short time I couldn't help but smile! It was the perfect weekend to stroll and enjoy an actual fall season. Friday morning, I woke up particularly early and walked around campus for a few hours taking in the beauty of autumn-the changing of the leaves, wearing coats and scarf, cuddling on the couch in over-sized knits and cheering on Notre Dame in one great game Saturday evening in the midst of a great rain storm! I hope your Wednesday is a fabulous one!
