Five Things You Must Know About Lee Krasner:
1. Graduated from the Women's College, The Cooper Union, a privately funded college (that was known for their science and art programs) in 1929.
2. Studied and worked with Hans Hofmann, who introduced her to the study of cubism and artists like Picasso and Matisse.
3. During her career, Krasner actually cut and took a part her paintings and arranged them into collages or would scrap them altogether. Because of this, there are very few whole paintings left of he work.
4. Although married to the famous artist Jackson Pollock, Krasner continued to sign her work as L.K.
5. What I love most about Krasner and Pollock; throughout their marriage and career, they gave each loving support and reassurance in each other's work when their paintings were not publicly appreciated.
