Five Things You Must Know About Marika Bournaki:
1. She's been at Julliard since she was sixteen years old, she's currently there getting her masters.
2. By age ten, she had already performed at Carnegie Hall...twice!
3. The award winning documentary following her journey for eight years, I'm Not A Rock Star has been presented at several international film festivals. (I was so excited her film previewed at our library, getting to meet her was a real treat!)
4. At age sixteen she was one of eight pianists worldwide to perform at the Verbier International Academy in Switzerland, she was invited back in 2009.
5. Her favorite performances are playing for children, whether in classrooms or hospitals.
