Five Things To Know About Grace Kelly:

1. Despite being rejected from Bennington College and her father's rants against her wanting to pursue acting, she was accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York in 1948.

2. During her acting days in New York she lived in the famed Barbizon Hotel for Women, where men weren't allowed to visit after 10 pm.

3. Her first job out of school was to play Bethel Merriday based on the novel (of the same name) written by Sinclair Lewis, which had been adapted into a television program. 

4. Before her marriage to the Prince of Monaco, Kelly dated other high profile men including the Shah of Iran and the Russian Fashion Designer Oleg Cassini. 

5. She went on to win an academy award for her portrayal as Georgie Elgin in The Country Girl and is ranked at number 13 in the AFI's top female stars in American Cinema.
