Happy New Year

What are you most looking forward to in this new year? I've been thinking about what's going to make this year stand out, what am I going to focus on to make sure I enjoy each and every moment of 2013 like I did in 2012! There are definitely a few things I'd like to work on like going out with my girlfriends a little more and getting dolled up while doing it. No lazy attire allowed!!! I'm also hoping to fit in a few  trips this year perhaps New York and hopefully D.C., the travelbug in me is rarin' to go.

I want to start over with my living space, get rid of stuff and find my home style. I need to learn how to cook Indian and Thai food, I  can't get enough! I want to to adopt the "quality over quantity" approach to fashion and start investing in better jewelry, art and learn to do more with my hair than straightening and curling it. So what are some things you'll be working on in the new year?!

Looking Back on 2012

I started exercising every day,
and I lost a lot of weight
I become a serious book collector.
I got into grad school to pursue librarianship...
I moved back to California...
I became obsessed with french pastries...
pretty, frilly, girly things like this ballet pink
petticoat became my absolute favorite.
All I do is hang out with this guy
and this guy way too much.
both my sister and brother graduated from their
grad school programs.

Friday Mornings

I hope everyone's week has been warm, cozy and hopefully a little quiet. I've gotta say as much as I enjoy the holidays they can also be a little chaotic, making sure everything is in order and just right for your guests, am I right? I honestly can't wait to relax a little and hang by the fire and enjoy the quietness of the weekend. I hope you have a fabulous weekend all, see you Monday!

It's The Moments That Matter

So when the holidays came around I thought I'd get some down time when family starting arriving in town. It didn't exactly happen that way, it seemed I only got busier with Christmas events and dinners with family, friends and work. I was so looking forward to relaxing by the fire and having long meaningful conversations on life like my family normally does. However, I'm just now getting to settle a little and enjoy the time I have with family and I'm trying to savor every minute of it while I can. As we get a little older remember to enjoy the small moments, the moments that matter.

Stop, Reflect & Love

I've been wanting to post on the tragic news about Sandy Hook Elementary, but when it came down to it I didn't know what I wanted to say (because I'm still speechless) or how to go about approaching the topic without getting into a debate on gun control or mental health. It shook me to my core which eventually led to thinking...then more thinking and evaluating my own life and the importance of my friendships; I'm talking about the people that make up my life!  People need people, we're a species that depends and thrives on love, affection and constant communication. My friends, my family, my relationships they have all shaped the person I've become and I certainly wouldn't be the person I am without them. I certainly don't tell them enough how much they mean to me, so call up a friend and tell them just how much they mean to you!!!  My heart truly goes out to Sandy Hook Elementary School and every single victim's family and friends who are grieving and suffering from this terrible event!
