Five Thing You Must Know About Margaret Wise Brown: 

1. Graduated with a degree in English literature from Hollins College in Virginia. 

2. There remains at least seventy unpublished works by Brown that sit in a trunk in her sister's attic.

3. Had a long term relationship with Blanche Oelrichs, actress and former wife of the infamous John Barrymore before her engagement to John Stillman Rockefeller.

4. Her first published book was titled When the Wind Blew.

5. With over a 100 children's book published and becoming an important juvenile literary icon,  Brown died at the young age of 42.
