Weekend Wrap Up...

This past weekend I had little plans - time with family, dozing in and out of naps and getting more than five hours of sleep at night, catching up with my latest read, binging Stranger Things and talking about the highly anticipated second season. Which if you haven't watched it, what are you doing?! What did you do over the weekend? My weekends are spent more in the moment and less time taking pictures. Although on the rare occasion, catching my parents off guard and snapping a quick picture usually sends me into a laugh attack. Are you putting your phone down during the weekend? Would you consider deleting Instagram/Snapchat from your phone for a day or two, apparently it's a trend for a few social media bloggers and I applaud them for it!!!

Friday Morning

How have you been? October has been full of so much from work related events and tasks to get through, a meeting that's probably over and done with by now (I've been anxious about this all week) and a lot going on with Silent Book Club and a few other side hustles, I'm so looking forward to this weekend. With no no plans in mind, I'm doing but indulging in Reese's Pieces (my favorite candy) and Stranger Things. What do your plans include?

Weekend Wrap Up...

Have you done a technology detox lately? This past weekend my guy and I drove to his grandparents fiftieth wedding anniversary where I met tons of family members and hung out, without my phone in hand. It was a celebration of love, life and family. I was slightly nervous, I hadn't been a room with nearly seventy strangers in a long time but I was welcomed with hugs and kisses and when I finally got home last night, I realized what a beautiful and reassuring experience the whole weekend was. Our world and tv screens are so inundated with hate and violence,  that you forget there are so many good people in the world. I was surrounded by this huge multi-cultured family and there was not one moment that was not filled with love. In fact most of the family I met were some of the most compassionate and wonderful people I have ever met and it was exactly what I needed. I wasn't worried or constantly checking what was going on elsewhere, I was 100% in the moment. And even if I was nervous about meeting the boyfriend's family (and extended family) within minutes I felt apart of the family. Time away from my phone, time spent laughing and meeting new people, it was desperately needed and a practice I need to adopt more of. How do you detox?

Friday Morning

Let's skip the fact I nearly yelled at the parents in my story time this week for letting them take complete advantage of me. I am a librarian, not your babysitter. This generation of moms is seriously the worst. If you're going to be a mother, can you be actually be a mom! Now that my mini rant is over, my weekend is booked solid. Between family commitments and tuning in for the premiere of the highly anticipated Lore television show on Amazon, I'll catch you all next week.

Friday Morning

Tis the crazy season and jumping for joy for when the weekend rolls around. Usually during this time of year my weeks are filled to the brim with work and attending meetings and events. So I leave the weekends open to enjoy the crisp weather and relax with a fall scented candle and staying in for a movie or a puzzle. I'm heading to a fall festival over the weekend and seeing Bill Murray live other than that the rest is for reading and spending time outside. What are your plans for this weekend?! Have a good one and see you Monday :)
