Friday Morning...

Good morning and happy almost summer everyone. It's already reached triple digits here in Palm Springs but I don't even care because life is soo good. No more tests or papers or having a million things on my plate all at once. My short vacation was needed, spending time with the fam, walking around the city and touring campus, eating in the student center and stocking up at the bookstore had me in smiles all weekend (that may also be the case because I was drinking every night over the weekend). After unpacking and sorting laundry, I've been getting in bed by ten, this is so huge for me considering my terrible sleep habit as of late. I've been devouring magazines and books, catching up on shows and podcasts and figuring out what's next for me.  So for now I'm just enjoying life as an adult, not student. Have an excellent weekend and see you next week :)

Friday Morning...

I don't know about you but this weekend is a celebratory one, I've been looking forward to this trip for a while now. Considering the bad day I had Monday, I'm in a much better mood now that I'm on the road to the bay area to celebrate my graduation. I'm in San Francisco for an extended weekend to check out my brother's pad in the city, get a little tipsy with my fam and completely separate myself from all work related projects. I'll be spending a day in San Jose to roam the San Jose State University campus. I'm hoping at some point it will sink in that even though I didn't live here all my hard work did paid off because I just graduated from one of the best library programs in the country. As a traveler and librarian, I have this thing where I visit public libraries when I'm in a new city. I'm sure my parents and siblings are over it by now, but I know they will blown away with the research library that is the Kings Library. So enjoy your weekend and I'll be back with snaps from my trip next Tuesday :)

The Action Plan is Back

The Action Plan is finally here to stay. I'm over the moon excited to bring back the monthly list of things to do, holidays, birthdays and anniversaries  (big and small) to celebrate and to elevate everyday life with simple facts, things to do around town and small projects. I started this project a few years ago but was forced to put it on hiatus almost immediately due to being in grad school.  The intention of The Action Plan started from my love for the monthly calendar of things to do in a magazine I use to read cover to cover. It unfortunately went under and I was sad to see it go; so I started adding personal goals, historical and fun facts about people, places and things to my own calendar. It served as a reminder to remember historical dates and favorite people's birthdays in between all the meetings and commitments logged into my planner.    I wanted to incorporate a fun and easy lifestyle guide for you, the reader and myself. Something handy to live by and use as a constant source of inspiration and motivation throughout the month. I hope you enjoy The Action Plan and what I have in store for this project. If you would like to create your own and be featured here on the site, please feel free to contact me. If you'd like to see something appear in an Action Plan, I'd love to hear your ideas!!!!

Friday Morning

You have no idea how excited I am about this weekend!!! This has been a particularly long week (actually month) so I'm looking forward to hanging out by the pool, getting started on my long list of books and preparing for my vacation up to the bay area (all of course with wine in hand). Given that this last month has been full of excitement, waiting (like lots of waiting) and preparation, celebration and extra work; I'm finally able to take a breather from it all. I've been pushing myself as hard as I can for the last several months, I'm looking forward to starting my summer on a lighter note, gearing up for an over the top summer program at the library, relaxing and taking in all the greatness of possessing a master's degree and looking to a bright future. Happy Friday and have an excellent weekend!!!

5 Summer Essentials

My 5 Beach Essentials Include:

I cannot live without sunglasses,
I have an entire drawer filled with expensive and cheap trendy sunnies.

I love a bright, colorful, soft and playful towel.

I can't sunbathe or swim without music playing in the background, so my beats pill comes in handy.

Having fair and dry skin, sunscreen is a must.

I carry a book around everywhere, what is a better place to catch up on reading than at the beach.

Friday Morning

Good morning and Happy Friday everyone. I can finally relax, I don't have to worry about any papers or presentations ever again. Well at least for a few years anyways. Sleeping in and waking up to a free weekend is something I've been longing for, for quite some time. And even though there's something else keeping me up at night, it's not the same feeling of being in grad school. Soon enough it will pass and life will go on. I have a list of things to do, passions and hobbies to get back into and looking forward to spending more time at and in the pool. (Goal: Swim two miles four days a week, I'm already at three so I'm getting there).  I'm slowly adjusting to a lifestyle that doesn't include rushing through the front door to make that five o'clock lecture.  The freedom of the night excites me, whether that means getting started on that long list of books I've been wanting to tackle or going out after work. I'm just happy I can actually enjoy my evenings again. See you next week :)
