Off To The Farmers Market I Go

Buy more flowers!!! This is something I rarely do but am definitely implementing into my weekly to monthly routine for 2013 and beyond. I always talk about how I want my house covered in just picked flowers; especially lavender, I can't get enough of these little beauties. I'm all about creating a natural environment with fresh and sweet smelling scents, so off to the farmers market I go in pursuit of scooping up a bouquet of colorful flowers. What is your favorite flower, do you have one or two?!

I've been listening to a lot of tunes with the piano as the main instrument lately and I'm totally missing jamming sessions (which obviously includes a range of classical to show tunes, a little jazz and a few pop songs, Vanessa Carlton and Jon McLaughlin to name a few). However it's been a while since I've played, time to get back to practicing. Do you play an instrument, I'm so very curious to know?

Learn Something New

So my new thing is wanting to actually learn how to use my camera the proper way (less of taking pictures on my phone and more use of an actual camera). I've always been attracted to beautiful/candid photography and since having always been around gifted artistic people, I obsessed and quickly grew envious of their sweet photography skills.  I'm currently checking out photography courses at the local junior college and other options, hoping to become a better photographer than I am currently. I'd love to share details of my life on the blog (and to just take better pictures in general), but I definitely don't feel confident with my skill at this point. Here's to practice makes perfect, right?! What is something you'd like to learn this year?

A Pop of Pink

So I've completely switched from glosses to lipsticks with the exception of Lippy by Butter London, it's kind of my new favorite. However I've been on the go between with Chanel and Benefit lipsticks and I simply can't stop with my madness for pink! Ditch au natural and be bold with a pop of pink today!!!!

Spend The Night In

Instead of going out for a meal with your friends, why not invite them over and cook for them. You know a low key, quiet dinner and dessert with your closest ones. Intimate conversation, stay a while and chat and completely enjoy the company of your loved ones. I definitely would love to incorporate this more and more into my routine, you know having more get togethers in my home than going out to dinner! What do you think?! Cook more often and cook for your friends, hope your week is off to a great start!

Friday Mornings...

I hope your week has been a good one and hopefully not to chilly. I don't know about you but I am beat maybe because I've been feeling a little under the weather like all week. I'll most likely be in bed with wool socks and a fire going (preferably next to my bed like in this here bedroom: ideal!). I plan on being quite lazy, like finishing up Lost by Gregory Maguire-I can't put it down, enjoying one viewing of To Rome With Love and relaxing with the beau before school starts up next week. Hope you all stay warm this weekend and relax a little.

Get to Decorating

I have this secret obsession with decorating coffee tables! For starters those of you who don't know me, I have an overwhelming and close to toppling stack of books scattered throughout my home. It might be an addiction but I just can't help looking through old art history books from college (so glad I kept my books from college: people don't throw your books away: EVER!) and other favorites including Maira Kalman, Deborah Needleman,Travel Books (Staying close to my Irish and French Roots), Kate Spade and Assouline published books and yes the collection is still growing. I like to decorate the table with a few stacks of books, a fresh bouquet of flowers (my favorite is lavender), unscented candles and some accents like geode rock, eccentric coasters and a deck of colorful cards! How would you decorate your table?!

Snowy Days Ahead

I know it's pretty chilly out but I hope you're all getting out and playing in the snow. I'm definitely missing building miniature snowmen with my sister and walking through the flurries on a perfectly cool day. Grab your gloves, ear-muffs and uggs and head outside to play!

Passion for Writing

Would you ever consider writing short stories; you don't have to commit to writing some masterpiece of a lengthy novel. I believe everyone has a story to tell in some fashion but hopefully I'm a bit of motivation for you. If you're one of those people who has a passion for writing, do it! I get it most of us don't have the time to spend to writing something, but what if you could dedicate fifteen minutes a night to writing what it is you love! That's all it takes so head to your computer and type away!
