31 Bits

My usual beach trips consist of driving to Laguna Beach and spending half the day at the basking in the sun and the rest of the time roaming the quaint little beach town. I've been at least a dozen times, however every time I go I find somewhere new that I can't help but fall in love with. Of course I've come across some pretty cool art galleries, bathing suit and sandal shops and hanging out at the cutest little ice cream shop directly across from the beach. Last summer while walking the streets and admiring the pinkish orange sunset, I found this shop that had Lauren Bush Lauren's FEED products. While perusing the store I came across 31 Bits Jewelry and I couldn't help but buy a few of their bracelets. Now I'm eyeing their neck candy and I'm simply loving these big and chunky necklaces, what do you think?!

Easy Recipes

Salmon Salad and Curried Egg on Multigrain Bread:
(First on my list to make)

Ingredients:
  • 1 7.5-ounce can wild Red Sockeye
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest (1 lemon)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons minced shallot (about half a shallot)
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 4 slices multigrain bread
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
  • Sprouts, for serving

Ingredients

  1. Mix salmon and olive oil together in a bowl, using a fork to flake the salmon. Stir in 1 teaspoon lemon zest (finely grated), lemon juice, shallot, and pepper. Spread onto bread slices.
  2. Peel and slice eggs, and place 2 slices on each piece of bread. Mix sea salt with the curry powder in a small bowl, and sprinkle on top of each egg slice.
Scatter remaining lemon zest over them, top with sprouts, and serve.

Cookbooks

What better way to approach tackling weight than preparing for a wedding, your best friend's in fact! Her wedding is coming up in a few short months (just in time to lose the six pounds I need too so the bridesmaid dress is a little more flowing and a little less tight) and with the bridesmaid dress as beautiful as it is so I gotta be looking good, but not too good!!! I recently stumbled up on this cookbook-I immediately thought to myself Whole Living has a cookbook-why I don't I have this!  After all I've only been a dedicated Whole Living Magazine reader for several years now, so why am I only just now learning about this little treasure.

Shoe Addict

I've always been a bag lady, and as of lately the purse collection is slightly getting out of control. The shoe side of me well it didn't start kicking in until this last year...thanks to my sister. She and my mom are the ones who are out of control with their obsession for shoes. However, now I'm slowly becoming one crazy shoe addict and I'm eyeing these over at MaraisUSA. I'm especially into the nude Thatcher Flat Smoke flats, what do you think?!!
