Make-Up Inspirations

So I found this on pinterest about a few weeks ago and fell in love with these apricot cheeks. My make-up inspiration for the week, less eye make-up and more color on the cheek! Plus how gorgeous is the exetremely loose braid, don't you just love this?

this week's favorites...

you can never go wrong with woody allen.
probably the best rom com, in my opinion that is.
could always use a little maria.
can easily watch this every night, no joke.
you can never go wrong with audrey's beautiful smile.

For the past few weeks now I've been really  missing living in the city especially since I recently found out I will be visiting Manhattan in just a couple months. So in anticipation, last night I put on my favorite romcoms based in Manhattan - Serendipity with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. What are you favorite New York romcoms? I hope everyone has a fun-filled weekend, I'm headed to L.A. since I didn't make it last weekend!

Hair Dos

For the past few weeks I've been in rut with how to fix my hair (mostly for work), of course a slick pony is always clean and chic looking, however I need to get with it and have some style. So I've been all over the web looking for some styling tips and up-dos, here are just a few that I found over at Wit and Delight, what do you think, gorgeous right? Try a new hair-do today!

Remodel and Organize

a few wild flowers and brass bird.
old chalkboard to pinboard, burlap to be weaved through flowers.
new lamp shade and classics shelved behind.
wreaths make all the difference.
I love starting new projects around my place, whether its transforming a piece of furniture or taking on a room to re-do, I actually just finished with my room. Here are a few added and inexpensive touches.  Make  a few changes to your place, the little things make a big difference.

Leather Jacket Love

It wasn't until maybe a year or two ago when I started to expand my taste in clothes. For the most part I stuck to a somewhat preppy and bohemian style of fashion, however I've realized how much I love the more vintage edgy rocker look as well.  To me there is nothing more cool looking than a loose fitted white tee, worn cuffed jeans with white converse, a leather jacket, aviators and a messy au natural hair style. The feeling of sliding your arms in a leather jacket makes me want to rev up a motorcycle engine and hang with the bad boys, because there's something so sexy about those bad boys. So find your inner bad girl and break out that leather jacket. (One of my favorite jackets is from Target that is about two years old-love it!)

Paint Something

I don't know what's been going on lately but apparently my brain is telling me I need to be artistic. For the past month now I have been creating crafts and wanting to learn to knit scarves, leg-warmers, mittens and other things now I'm on this painting kick. I think it all started during my freshman year of college; as I was looking for electives to fill my schedule I decided I'd try out an art history class. Let me tell you people, thinking it would be somewhat of an easy classs, Art History was honestly one of the hardest classes I took while in school. And silly me decided why not take more, turns out I was two credits short of receving a minor in Art History.  Anyways I fell deeply in love with learning about expressionist and post modern art especially! So the other day I bought a gargantuan canvas at Michaels and had a blast impersonating Pollock, as I flung and flicked paint on to the canvas. I've got to say, it felt great! I'm excited to share it with you all soon!

If I could fit into my seven year old body's tutu that I absolutely kept, I'd wear it!

My biggest dream when I was a little girl was being a prima ballerina!  Since I've been in a ballet mood this past week, I thought I'd post a few of my favorite ballet photos. Happy Friday everyone, can you believe how fast this week went!! Hometown Adventures

I've always been very adventurous and curious to learn about cultures and societies outside my own and although I've had the great fortune of traveling out of my state and out of country, there is still much to learn even in your own town. While planning trips and excursions in far away destinations is always something fun (it expands our knowledge of the outside world as well), exploring your own community is just as important. During my collegiate years while I was a poor student traveling wasn't much of an option, so it was up to my friends and I to find things to do around town. Now I've become an expert at how to "travel" and explore my hometown. Be a bit more savvy and purchase these cards, Anywhere: A Travel Guide here! I promise you will have so much fun using these cards when your out and about. So, take a weekend off and venture out into your town with this awesome set of travel cards. Hint: Also, they make for a great gift!

Just Dance

From the time I was three years old and enrolled in dance classes, you couldn't stop me from dancing. I have taken everything from ballet to tap classes, every jazz class imaginable, lyrical, modern dance, acrobatics, even a little ballroom dance, I've done it all. Since the dance program at the college I attended was a popular and pretty good program, I took just about everything they had to offer to keep me moving through college. Now that I've been out of school and in the working world I definitley miss it. So I'm excited to say after seven months of not moving my derriere, I'm ready to get back into it and am thrilled to be taking a jazz class. Enroll in a local dance class this month and try it out!

Plant Something

Growing up I never cared about gardening and despite my grandmother having a green thumb and wanting to teach me a thing or two about planting, I probably spent the time (I would have been learning about flowers and weeds) in time out for not listening and throwing a fit to get out of it. However now my room is filled with greenery and I'm actually wanting to learn how to garden, if only my grandma were around to actually see me showing interest (because there's nothing she loved more than tending to her flower-beds). There's something so therapeutic, relaxing and healthy about being outside and tending to the earth. At the moment I'm working on keeping the plants alive in my room but I hope to one day have a garden filled with wild flowers and a few lemon and tomato trees, because there's nothing better than fresh lemon and tomato.  Go green today-I'm getting a Boston Fern for my bathroom!

Are You A Hat Person?

I don't know what it is about me and hats but within the last several months I have had this serious addiction whether finding them in thrift shops, garage sales or in a store I have gone hat crazy. I'll admit every so often when I wear one out I feel a little silly because A. I get the feeling I don't look so good in hats B. No-one really wears them out here, but then again I think to myself, this hat is awesome, then I put on a smile and embrace it. A few of my absolute favorites include a fedora I found in a shop in Soho for ten bucks, my panama hat from J.Crew and this all black hat from Zara. So be brave and wear a hat today!

Get Organized

When it comes to work, schooling and arranging clothes I am an organization freak; but when it comse to basic things like keys and cell-phones its like a game of hide and seek, in which it takes me fifteen minutes to find the darn thing. I am constantly misplacing important things like my keys, phone and my ID (due to changing wallets between my big purses and clutches), major problem when youre headed out the door for anything! Don't even get me started on my days in college when loosing my college ID, everyone hated me. So I finally went out and bought an adorable tray and organizer from Home Goods and placed it near the front door and somehow I've managed to routinely put them on the tray, yay to no more tantrams when I can't find my keys.   I don't know about you but I hate putting away my big coats in my closest in my bedroom, they take up a lot of space. So I found the cutest coat rack/umbrella holder at TJ Maxx and a rustic picket fence wall hanger that I also keep by the front door, so I can just grab it on my way out.
Today-organize a small space in your home that definitely needs tending too!
